School Council Corner | Family Ambassador Program | |
You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. This includes getting involved with the school council. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members. A reminder that our first School Council meeting of the year will take place on Monday, October 6 at 6:30pm in the library. We hope to see you there! If you have not yet submitted a nomination form, please reach out to Mrs. Dillon at tammy.dillon@yrdsb.ca | Check out our Family Ambassador Program brochures! These will be updated early this fall with new and returning volunteers.Consider joining as an ambassador to support new families to Bond Lake especially if your home language is not listed. This will allow for the school community to reach more families. Please email tammy.dillon@yrdsb.ca to express your interest.

Fresh from the Farm: This year, BLPS will once again be participating in a Fresh from the Farm fundraiser. Fresh from the Farm is a unique fundraising partnership between the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and our school community. By purchasing fresh apple and vegetable bundles, you can enjoy healthy, local produce for your family while also supporting Ontario farmers and helping us raise money for the school. This year, families can even choose to purchase an apple or vegetable bundle to be donated to a family in our community.
Our Fresh from the Farm fundraiser will be open to place orders until October 17, 2025. Orders will be delivered to the school in November. When placing your order online, you can connect your order to a student name and teacher name. Please click the link to place your order and feel free to share the link with family and friends! Pediculosis (Head Lice): With so many students gathered together in one space, it is not uncommon for head lice to be a nuisance shortly after the return to school. It is possible for anyone to catch head lice. They are spread by close head-to-head contact with someone who already has lice, which is common when children play with each other. Head lice can also spread through indirect contact when sharing clothing (hats, scarves, coats, etc.), combs, brushes, towels, beds, couches, pillows, and stuffed animals that have recently been in contact with an infected person. Families may want to review information about Head Lice from York Region Public Health to learn more about ways to prevent spread, common symptoms and treatment options.
Stars United Baton and Dance: Interested families may wish to check out the flyer from Stars United Baton and Dance about fall programs.
