Remembrance Day - November 11: For Remembrance Day, we’d like to continue a tradition that was started, not too long ago, at Bond Lake. Just as staff members have been given the opportunity to share a picture of a family member who has served or is currently serving in the military, we would like to invite families in our community to do the same. To make that possible, staff have created a template that students/families can fill in to share. This can be done electronically or in hard copy. Please let your child know that the picture needs to be inserted electronically or a photocopy of the original needs to be inserted into the image area as we don’t want any of these sentimental photographs to go missing. Here are a few details:
- More than one template can be submitted for each family.
- Completed templates will be displayed in the front foyer and outside of the gymnasium.
- Staff will hold onto completed templates each year so that they can be displayed for years to come and build on the display as students, new to Bond Lake, add their own.
- Completed templates can be printed and sent to school with your child or emailed to your child’s teacher.
Thank you for helping our students to honour the importance of Remembrance Day.
Donations to the School: We have several inquiries from families wishing to make a donation to support the school and community. Interested families can make a donation to Bond Lake PS through SchoolCashOnline. Please see the instructions on our YRDSB website. As an alternative, with all of the economic uncertainty and rising food prices, we do have families in our school community who are experiencing food insecurity. One way to help is to donate grocery store gift cards to the school. Any cards that are donated will be stored safely in the office and available on an emergency basis to support a family in need while other supports are put in place. If you are able to donate in either manner, we thank you for your kindness and appreciate your support!
Photo Orders - Reminder: Photo proofs have been sent home with your child, and the deadline to order school photos with FREE Ship-to-School delivery is October 31, 2025.
With current Canada Post delays, choosing FREE Ship-to-School is the best way to make sure your photos arrive on time. Please place your order at edgeimaging.ca/order using the portrait code and pass code on your proof. If the proof has been misplaced, you can look up your codes at edgeimaging.ca/lookup
