School Council Corner | Family Ambassador Program | |
You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. This includes getting involved with the school council. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members. Thank you to all the parents/guardians who joined us for our first School Council meeting. We will meet next on Monday, December 1 virtually. All are welcome! | Check out our Family Ambassador Program brochures! These will be updated early this fall with new and returning volunteers.Consider joining as an ambassador to support new families to Bond Lake especially if your home language is not listed. This will allow for the school community to reach more families. Please email tammy.dillon@yrdsb.ca to express your interest.

Humankind Toronto Sock Drive: Once again this year, we have partnered with Le Club to participate in Humankind Toronto’s Sock Drive benefiting local non-profit organizations like 360 Kids. This year, No More Cold Feet, will be running from November 5 through November 28.Socks are one of the most requested yet least donated items in local shelters today. This November, consider donating a pair of new, thick, warm socks for adults or children. The donation box will be available in the front foyer all month long. Please see the flyer for more information and give generously!
Remembrance Day - November 11 - Reminder! Please send in pictures of a family member who has served or is currently serving in the military. Use the template to create your display electronically or in hard copy. Do not send original images - copies only! Remember:
- Templates must be submitted by Monday, November 10.
- More than one template can be submitted for each family.
- Completed templates will be displayed in the front foyer and outside of the gymnasium.
- Staff will hold onto completed templates each year so that they can be displayed for years to come and build on the display as students, new to Bond Lake, add their own.
- Completed templates can be printed and sent to school with your child or emailed to your child’s teacher.
Thank you for helping our students to honour the importance of Remembrance Day.
Student Pick-Up: A reminder to all families that the end of the school day is a very busy time and all staff are actively engaged in supporting students to prepare for the transition home. To help ensure student safety, we ask that parents/guardians not pick students up between 2:00-2:25 pm.
