Request for Silent Auction Items and/or Sharing of Talents: As our BLPS School Council works to prepare for our Summer Fair, they have asked us to share two requests with our parent/guardian community:
- We are looking for donated items for a silent auction with our theme of ‘Summer Fun’. Donations can be dropped off at the main office any time before Monday, June 6. If you have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Dillon or Ms. Kuk.
- We are seeking talented members of our school community to volunteer to share their talents at our Summer Fair. If you have a special skill (e.g., face painting, Henna, balloon animals etc.) and would be willing to give your time to share it at the Summer Fair, please email us at bond.lake.ps@yrdsb.ca
New School Website: We are pleased to inform you that our school website has been refreshed, and can now be found at https://bondlake-ps.yrdsb.ca The new site is designed to be translatable, accessible, mobile friendly and easy to use.
We encourage you to visit it for news, events, resources for families and information about our school and the school board. We will be continuing to add new information over the coming weeks and welcome your feedback. Since our website offers easily translation, moving forward our BLPS Community Wave will be posted to the School Newsletters section rather than in our Edsby News River.
BLPS Community Clean-Up: On May 20th, our students in grades 1 - 8 will be participating in a community cleanup around the school; this is a good opportunity for them to learn the importance of being clean and taking care of our earth. They will be divided into different groups, led by our experienced grade 8's; and will spend a portion of the day helping to create a better environment!
Students will each be given 1 glove and there will be garbage bags to dispose of items after the cleanup. We will also be going through safety rules before we start.
Make sure to encourage your children to have a positive mindset!
Snack Shack: Our intermediate student leaders, together with Ms. Sanderson’s class, are organizing four Snack Shack dates during the month of May. Every Tuesday, students are invited to bring in $2 (Toonie Tuesday) to purchase some yummy snacks. Funds raised will support our Graduation Celebration!
