School Council Corner

Family Ambassador Program

You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. This includes getting involved with the school council. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members.

At the beginning of the school year, parents/guardians have the opportunity to become a voting member of council. If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone, fill out the School Council Nomination Form that will be part of your start-up forms by September 26, 2025

Check out our Family Ambassador Program brochures! If you would like to be a part of the Family Ambassador Program, we will start up again in the new school year. Consider joining as an ambassador to support new families to Bond Lake especially if your home language is not listed. This will allow for the school community to reach more families.

Hot Lunch Program: Hot lunches will continue to be delivered up to and including Wednesday, June 25. Please be advised of the last delivery dates for each program.

  • Little Caesar’s Pizza - Monday, June 23
  • Kid’s Kitchen - Tuesday, June 24
  • Astoria Greek - Wednesday, June 25

Thursday, June 26, 2025 Early Dismissal in Elementary Schools: All schools in the York Region District School Board are committed to improving student achievement and well-being. On Thursday, June 26, an early release day will take place to allow elementary staff to take part in meetings during the afternoon of that day. These meetings will allow for school staff to engage in culminating activities regarding the review and revision of the School’s Improvement Plan as well as year-end and transition activities that support student success.

As has been our practice in the past, students will attend school during the morning of Thursday, June 26 only. Students will be dismissed early that day at 11:25am. Arrangements will be made to ensure that students who are normally bussed to and from school will receive transportation at this time. Families whose children attend after school child care should make appropriate arrangements to address this change in schedule.
