VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! This year, our BLPS School Council has been planning events that help families to build relationships within our school community. On Thursday, June 11 from 5:30-7:30pm, families will be able to work together to win challenges against other families at our BLPS Family Olympics.
To make the event possible, we are seeking volunteers. Please complete the Google Form to express your interest and a member of the School Council will reach out to share information with you. Thanks in advance!
If you have questions/concerns, please feel free to share them with us. | Check out our Family Ambassador Program brochures! These will be updated early this fall with new and returning volunteers.Consider joining as an ambassador to support new families to Bond Lake especially if your home language is not listed. This will allow for the school community to reach more families. Please email tammy.dillon@yrdsb.ca to express your interest.

Bike to School Week: Let’s get wheeling! Bike to School Week pedals into town June 1-5, 2026. Bike to School Week provides an opportunity for students to try riding a bike to school for the first time, learn new skills, connect with others, or have fun exploring the neighbourhood and nature.
We have received some great incentives for students who bike to school from June 1-5. Look for Mrs. Dillon or Mrs. Kuk near the bike racks throughout the week!
Thursday, June 25, 2026 Early Dismissal in Elementary Schools: All schools in the York Region District School Board are committed to improving student achievement and well-being. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, an early release day will take place to allow elementary staff to take part in meetings during the afternoon of that day. These meetings will allow school staff to engage in culminating activities regarding the review and revision of the School’s Improvement Plan, as well as year-end and transition activities that support student success.
As has been our practice in the past, students will attend school on the morning of Thursday, June 25, 2026, only. Students will be dismissed early that day at 11:25am. Arrangements will be made to ensure that students who are normally bused to and from school will receive transportation at this time. Families whose children attend after-school child care should make appropriate arrangements to address this change in schedule.
Jump Rope for Heart: We are thrilled to share that we recently received the final total and our school community raised $1890 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through our Jump Rope for Heart event! Since our initial goal was $1000, students should be proud that they were nearly able to raise double what we anticipated. Thank you to the entire school community for their generous support of this very important fundraiser!
Safe Micromobility in Richmond Hill: The City of Richmond Hill is raising awareness on safe micromobility. Micromobility refers to various types of low-speed, lightweight, wheeled mobility devices that are often electrified. Most commonly, it refers to electric bicycles (e-bikes) and kick-style electric scooters (e-scooters). They have highlighted three key e-scooter by-laws based on community feedback received to date:
- E-scooter riders must be at least 16 years old
- Riders aged 18 and under are required to wear helmets
- E-scooters are prohibited on sidewalks
Please see the attached information to further understand safe micromobility use.
Kid’s Kitchen - June 2026: Kid’s Kitchen is wrapping up the school year with some June specials. Families can choose to order chicken drumsticks or a beef, chicken Halal or veggie hotdog. Check out the flyer for all the details!
Understanding and Navigating the Education System-Families of YRDSB Black Students June 2026: Families, parents, and caregivers, please join us for our monthly virtual meeting, where families with Black children come together to learn about resources and upcoming programs for Black students in both elementary and secondary schools. Please see our flyer for more information and the registration link.

Students will get a chance to preview the Book Fair and will be bringing home a flyer/wish list. Students can come to the library to make purchases from Monday, June 8th to Thursday, June 11th. The Book Fair will also be opened for families on the evening of Thursday, June 11th (2:30-7:30 pm) during the Family Olympics.

BLPS School Council FAMILY OLYMPICS: Our BLPS School Council is excited to host Family Olympics on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 5:30-7:30pm. Family Olympics is our end-of-year school community event and is open to all of our Bond Lake families.
Fun outdoor games will be set up for kids and parents to compete in together! A dedicated picnic space will be set up for families to sit, eat, and spend time together. Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, and refillable water bottles. A variety of snacks will be sold for school fundraising, so don't forget to bring a little spare change! Please see the attached flyer for all the details!
