Hike & Play Family Event - May 14: Our BLPS School Council invites all families to our Hike & Play event on Thursday, May 14 from 6:00-8:00pm. Follow the map to enjoy a hike on one of the routes on our beautiful Bond Lake PS trail system and then, join us in the gym for board games.

Families are encouraged to bring along a favourite board game from home and connect with another family to play. Games of all kinds and for various ages are encouraged. Bring some cash as snacks will be available to purchase. Check out our Event Flyer for all the details and complete the Google Form to reserve your table.

Parent/Guardian Class Placement Input: As a school team, we highly value input from parents/guardians as we begin to consider class placements for the 2026-2027 school year.

Parent input that is received via the Class Placement Input Form by Friday, May 1, 2026 will be considered and shared during placement meetings in May/June.  This form is only for parents/guardians of students attending Bond Lake PS. Please complete a separate form for each child.

A great deal of time and consideration goes into placing students in the most positive learning environment possible, given each student’s skills, knowledge, attitude and work habits.  Our class placement teams include classroom teachers, special education and MLL (multiple language learner) teachers, DECEs, EAs and the Principal/Vice-Principal.

Classes at each grade level are formed using a variety of important criteria including:

●    Class size consistent with Board and Ministry;

●    Academic strengths and needs balanced throughout all classes in a grade;

●    Placement of English Language Learners and special education students;

●    Gender balance in each class; and

●    Promoting positive social relationships while minimizing unproductive associations.

Please note:

●    Requests for specific teachers cannot be accommodated.

●    There will be combined grades in our school organization.

●    Final decisions about class placement are the responsibility of the school.

Thank you for partnering with us in this very important task.

Bond Lake PS Spring Flower ⚘ Fundraiser: Our Mother’s Day flower fundraiser closes on Monday! Help us to raise money toward the goals outlined in our School Fundraising Plan and purchase some beautiful spring flowers for your home.

E-Scooters/E-Bikes Active Travel: YRDSB continues to encourage families to use safe transportation to and from school. We encourage students to use active school travel whenever possible. Active travel refers to any form of human-powered transportation, including walking, cycling, rollerblading, skateboarding, and scootering.

School Property

Students using any transportation device, whether electronic or not-electronic, must dismount before arriving on school property. This includes all sidewalks, pathways, and walkways on school grounds. Please note that the school is not responsible for lost or damaged equipment.

Provincial Regulations

These modes of travel offer many physical, mental, and community benefits. Please visit the Ontario website for a full list of regulations. Every cyclist under 18 must wear a properly fitting bike helmet. Some students may also choose to use electronically assisted devices, such as e‑scooters or e‑bikes. In Ontario, you must be 16 or older to ride an e-scooter or e-bike. When riding e‑scooters or e‑bikes, it is important that students follow all applicable municipal regulations to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

Municipal Regulations

Before riding any device, it is important for students and families to be aware of the regulations set by their local municipality. These may include minimum age requirements for operating electric devices, helmet laws, and other safety guidelines.

Respectful Riding

Pedestrians always have the right of way. Students are expected to ride with caution by slowing down, using a bell when approaching others, and passing on the left. Wearing reflective clothing is encouraged to increase visibility and promote safer travel.
